Brennan joined the African Studies Program in August 2023 as the Program Assistant for the Africa-China Initiative. He graduated from the Walsh School of Foreign Service in 2023, having majored in International Politics with a concentration in Foreign Policy and Policy Processes and minored in Chinese and Music.
Originally from Clarksville, Maryland, he is very passionate about African infrastructure and economic development, especially as it relates to China and the Belt and Road Initiative. During his undergraduate studies, he focused on interactions within the Global South, especially between China and other states. During this time, he had the opportunity to research infrastructure and development in East Africa, which sparked his interest in studying the African continent.
