Moussa Blimpo

Dr. Moussa Blimpo is a Senior Fellow at the University of Toronto's Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, on leave from the World Bank's Africa chief economist office. He completed a Ph.D. in economics from New York University, spent two years as a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University's Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR), and three years as an Assistant Professor of economics and international studies at the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Blimpo is primarily an applied micro-economist interested in a range of research and policy issues in developing economies, mainly in Africa. He is the founding director of the Center for Research and Opinion Polls (CROP), a think tank in Togo that he led between 2011 and 2015. He also serves as a Senior Fellow at the Clean Air Task Force's program on Energy, Development and Climate in Africa and he is a Fellow at the Energy for Growth Hub.
