Our Alumni are an integral part of the African Studies family. Serving as mentors and resources for current students, guest lecturers, and adjunct professors. Each spring, the African Studies Program hosts an Alumni Reception to welcome former students back to the Hilltop. The Alumni Reception is an opportunity to reconnect current and former students and faculty, and report on the year's events and achievements. If you are an Alum who would like to learn more about what's new with African Studies or Georgetown University, please feel free to contact us.
In addition to our own alumni network, a new initiative, the Georgetown Africa Interest Network (GAIN) seeks to bring together the various Africa-based groups on campus. Africa-focused research, teaching, and programming are widely available and flourishing at Georgetown. Many of our alumni are members of this burgeoning entity. To find out more click here.
